Franklin County
Comprehensive Plan Update 2011
Franklin County is currently working on an update to the 1999 Comprehensive Plan. The main goal of the Franklin County Comprehensive Plan is to ensure that the residents of Franklin County can continue to enjoy the rural features of the county while reaping the benefits of growth and development. The plan update will work to give the county and local municipalities the tools and guidance that are needed in order to manage sustainable growth while conserving the most important natural, scenic, agricultural and historic features of the county.
An Advisory Committee has been established in order to help guide the creation of the plan and consists of representatives from across the county. The committee will help to identify goals and objectives and formulate policies pertaining to future land use and development.
Public participation will be encouraged in the form of public meetings. These meetings will be advertised in the local newspapers as well as on the Franklin County website as they are scheduled.
