Youth Diversion Program

Program Description

In the Summer of 1997, the Franklin County Juvenile Probation Officers developed the Youth Diversion Program as a disposition alternative for first time juvenile offenders referred to the Juvenile Probation Department for minor offenses. Juveniles can be referred to this program by the Court and Juvenile Probation Officers. Participants in this program are between the ages of 10 and 15 years old. The Youth Diversion Program is a mentoring program designed to keep young offenders off the streets and out of the Court system. Juveniles referred to this program participate in community service projects and in positive, age appropriate interactive activities. The Juvenile Probation Officers organize and run this program. The JPO's are both role models and instructors / leaders.
